Project Overview

In this project, I collaborated with a student copywriter to design a website for a fictional non-profit organization. The project involved creating a cohesive brand identity, designing the website's homepage, and developing a pop-up window to encourage newsletter sign-ups.

Design Process

The project began with the copywriter providing me with a brand guideline, written content, and specific requests for the website's look and feel. My role was to translate these elements into a visually appealing and functional website design.

Here’s how I approached the project:

Logo Design: I started by creating a logo that aligned with the brand guidelines and captured the essence of the fictional non-profit. The logo served as the cornerstone of the website's visual identity, influencing the overall design.

 

Homepage Design: With the logo in place, I designed the homepage, ensuring it was both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly. The layout was crafted to highlight key information while maintaining a clean and organized appearance.

 

Pop-Up Design: In addition to the homepage, I was tasked with designing a pop-up window to encourage visitors to sign up for the organization's newsletter. The pop-up was designed to be visually engaging without being intrusive, seamlessly integrating with the overall website design.

 

Mock-Up Creation: Once the designs were finalized, I created a mock-up of the homepage and pop-up as they would appear on the website. This involved using stock images from Pexels and leveraging Adobe Photoshop to design the page and place the assets in context.

Outcome

The final deliverable was a well-designed mock-up that effectively captured the vision of the fictional non-profit organization. The cohesive brand identity, clean homepage layout, and strategically designed pop-up window demonstrated a thoughtful approach to website design, ensuring a positive user experience while meeting the project's objectives.
